Skilled Independent (Migrant) visa:

If you have skills in an occupation recognized to be demand in Australia you may be eligible for this visa . There is no sponsorship required and you must pass a points test. Points are allocated for skills, age, work experience, English language ability, spouse skills (where relevant), and other factors such as competency in a community language; investments in,qualifications obtained in and work experience in Australia.

Skilled Sponsored (Migrant) visa:

If you have skills in an occupation recognized to be demand in Australia. And you have a close relative in Australia to sponsor you may eligible for this visa.The same criteria apply to the above mentioned class expect that a lower score is required.

Skilled Regional Sponsored (Provisional) visa:

This type of visa is for three (3) years initially, and is designed to attract skilled personnel to regional area where there is skills shortage. You can either be sponsored by relatives living in a designated area of Australia or nominated by a participating state/territory government. As the holder of such a visa in Australia you are able to apply for permanent residency after living and working in designated areas.

Skilled Recognized Graduate (Temporary) visa:

This is a temporary visa for one and half years allowing graduates of recognized overseas educational institutions in specified disciplines (currently most engineering courses) to come to Australia and work for a limited time. If you qualify and obtain such a visa and arrive and work you would be able to apply for permanent residency under the other general skilled categories.
